Have you ever thought about the fact that Old McDonald is in the past tense? He had a farm? and on that farm there was a pig? Oh dear, what happened? E I E I O in this context sounds more like a refrain of suffering, (eh ay eh ay ohhh) a wailing that recalls things past, the painful memory of something that will never return. May this puzzle stand in honor to that sacred farm and all farms past and future, to the joys and the pains that they hold and may the 39 animals featured here be a blessing to their memory.
